Ku Klux Klan Massive March on Washington, DC August 8, 1925

Pictured here is a general view of the resurrected and revitalized Knights of The Ku Klux Klan, Inc. (Second Klan) parade along Pennsylvania Avenue. Imperial Wizard Hiram Evans is seen sans hood in the center just two years after he seized power from Imperial Wizard Joseph Simmons. It was estimated that nearly sixty thousand Klansmen marched in the parade while nearly a million looked on along the route and side streets. My grandfather attended with other officials and led the Indiana and Mid-Western States delegations as a fast-rising young Klan Lieutenant to Imperial Wizard Evans [center].
